Abandoned Room

A memorial recalling deportation of Jewish Berliners on Koppenplatz. It was designed by Karl Biedermann and Eva Butzmann. A room whose inhabitants have suddenly disappeared. Around the edge a poem by Nelly Sachs, a writer who herself was a Jewish Berliner, is engraved.
